The girls and I got together to get dinner and wanted Portuguese. When we arrived I parked in the private lot. We walked into a nice restaurant. Adolfo was our server, and he was great. I started with the red sangria, which was only $7, and it was tasty. For my meal, I got the mussels and a side of yellow rice. They both were so tasty! My friends got the cod and the stuffed snapper, and they said they really enjoyed it. It also looked so tasty. The bill was super affordable, and I enjoyed my time.
We were recommended and yes glad we came. The food we ordered, the service, the atmosphere, from the moment we came in we already knew that this experience will be exceptional. Staff were really nice and took really good care of us. The food was really good! Thanks to the chef. We ordered from the specialty menu. I got the Grilled Picanha and my husband got a “Fillet of Seabass” they were both very delicious. I tried their Sangria and it was light and fruity. I recommend you try this place if you like Portuguese and Spanish Cuisine. By the way they have toothpicks on the table:) Definitely coming back!!!
The food: I got the veggie paella, it was good but had a lot of room for improvements. It felt overall a bit bland and like just regular spanish rice with veggies. But what it lacked in quality more than made up in quantity. It's a really large portion, definitely a take-home item for most customers, I assume. My girlfriend had the Steak Diana, and she thought it was good as well. Decent size portion loaded with mushrooms, veggies, and sides. On the side, we tried mashed potatoes and fries, and it was the best part of the night. The fries taste like good old diner fries, and the mashed potatoes had really great texture and presentation.
The service: The waiters were attentive and checked up on us a few times. I saw the same attentiveness from other waiters for other customers, too. Our waiter had a thick accent, which made it a little difficult to communicate our orders and choices. However, we all took our time to make it work. There was a small hiccup with 2 of the items due to the miscommunication, but the waiter, without much of any issue, fixed it. Overall, it was a great service.
The atmosphere: it is a typical restaurant type experience. The place tho empty when we got there did feel a bit stuffy. Low ceilings, lack of windows, or natural light besides one spot made it feel smaller than it should be. One big issue that I tried to ignore was that we saw two baby cockroaches on the table, and I didn't mention it because my gf would have freaked out.
Overall, the place is worth a try. I most likely won't be going back just because I don't have many choices as a vegetarian.
Excellent and friendly staff. Food was amazing. It will be my monthly restaurant when visiting NJ!!
They treat their customers terribly. Philip the person at the register was abysmal. Told us to wait in line even though we had a pickup order. Then a lady came got her food instantly. We waited in line for 30 min and then finally got to pick up the food. Philip was nasty idk if he is the owner but he has no care for his customers. Absolutely disgusting behavior from a place that makes a crazy amount of money. We spent over 200$ and were treated like trash.
Food was delicious and overall service was great. We had an issue with our bill but the manager handled the situation quickly and was very helpful. Would recommend and will come back next time I am in the area.
Had Oxtail stew with chickpeas and Roasted pork loin, Amazing!!!
5+stars to this cozy and lovely place. I can wait to go back with my daugther.
